So, here's the current issue: When I push the cockpit trunk release button (the one below the hood release pull), nothing happens.

1.) take off the three bolts for the Odometer trim. 2.) carefully detach the trunk release button. 3.) push the button out of the trim piece. 4.) hold the button and the socket at the bottom end. 5.) yank it until they disconnect. 6.) tear off a small piece of paper and fold it into small rectangular. My trunk release in my car stopped working 2 days ago but the trunk is still able to open via keyless remote. Anyone have this issue and know the fix?.

The button on the key still works its just the button under the dash that doesnt work. Is the key hole on your trunk horizontal? If it is, rotate it counter-clockwise so that it's vertical.

To open with the key fob, stand within range of the car, press and hold the button for three/four seconds. Inside the car, the switch is on the drivers door down by your knee and in front of the door pocket.
